Vegetation Program Volunteer Days at Desert View: May 1-2, 2010

Overview

Quiet and scenic Desert View of Grand Canyon National Park will be your home for a few days while you help Vegetation Program staff on an exciting restoration project. Everything will take place in the area surrounding the east entrance of the park with views of the San Francisco Peaks, the Painted Desert , and the remote Unkar region of the North Rim. There will be a variety of work projects including plant salvage, restoration site maintenance, and invasive plant removal in areas impacted by construction. On Saturday and Sunday we will work from 8 AM to 4 PM with an hour on the rim for lunch. During your time here you will receive an orientation to the park by Vegetation staff and learn about the park's ecosystems and plant communities. We look forward to having you here for an exciting chance to restore native landscapes in one of America 's greatest natural treasures.
