Vegetation Program Volunteer Days at Desert View: May 15-16, 2010

Overview

Join the Vegetation Program at Grand Canyon for a once in a lifetime chance to live and work at historic Desert View. All work will be conducted in the area surrounding the east entrance of the park near the famous Desert View Watchtower designed by Mary Colter. We will be removing invasive species, monitoring previous restoration sites, performing restoration site maintenance, and restoring native vegetation in areas impacted by construction. We will spend each day from 8 AM to 4 PM working on these projects. In addition to working side by side with you, Vegetation Program staff will present an orientation to Grand Canyon National Park , the park's native vegetation communities, and provide a short overview of some of the invasive species that are being managed by park biologists. The Staff here at Grand Canyon National Park looks forward to having you to help contribute to the health and beauty of the stunning Grand Canyon.
