Vegetation Program Volunteer Days on the South Rim: October 9-11, 2010

Overview

This Columbus Day, please come help assist Vegetation Program in the 2009-2010 Visitor Center and Mather Point revegetation project. All work will be conducted around scenic Mather Point with breathtaking views of Bright Angel Creek and Zoroaster Temple. We will be restoring native vegetation to areas impacted by construction and road work. All three days we will work from 8 am to 4 pm. In addition to working side by side with you, park staff will present an orientation to Grand Canyon National Park , the park's native vegetation communities, and a short overview of some of the invasive species that are being managed by park biologists. Come for a weekend at the South Rim and contribute to the health and beauty of the stunning Grand Canyon by protecting and preserving this invaluable natural resource for future generations.
